Therapy Lead

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate’s Degree in either Occupational or Physical Therapy is preferred, but not required. A state licensure is highly recommended. Experience in Brain Injury, Adaptive Equipment, and Sensory Integration is preferred.  Excellent organizational, time management, verbal and written communication skills are essential.

PURPOSE:

To aide persons served in achieving maximum physical potential and independence by engaging the individual in activities and exercises for improving motor functions, providing adaptive equipment as needed, and continuing to support progress in other areas of advancement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and maintain positive personal relationship with persons served and staff
  2. Maintain regular attendance.
  3. Develop appropriate goals and reports with input from Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, the Coordinator of Therapeutic Services, and the Director of Health Services.
  1.  Assist in ensuring effective and efficient operation of the OT and PT programs by performing duties as assigned by supervisors.
  1. Provide adaptive aids and other therapeutic measures to increase the independence of each person served.
  2. Maintain Occupational Therapy Department.
  3. Assist in maintenance of optimum body positioning of persons served, coordinating care with proper consultants, including Orthotist, Assistive Technology Professional, or other similar professionals.
  4. Assist in developing sensory diets, OT programs, and maintaining the Snoezelen room and equipment.
  1. Provide adaptive aids and other therapeutic measures to increase the independence of persons served in both the Occupational and Physical Therapy areas.
  2. Provide education and instruction to staff regarding therapeutic interventions and transfers.
