Job Descriptions:

Residential Skills Trainer I

Qualifications: Previous experience working with adults with disabilities is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Maturity and the ability to portray a positive adult image will be considered key qualities for employment.

Purpose: Through the development of a strong personal relationship with individuals served, provide opportunities for individual's growth and an atmosphere which promotes purpose, privacy, and dignity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 1. Conduct hourly bed checks if working overnight.

  • 2. Develop and maintain a positive personal relationship with each individual served, parents/ guardians of individuals served, and co-workers.

  • 3. Responsible for the quality of home life, total home climate, and physical condition of the house.

  • 4. Acquire an understanding of each individual's needs and the team plan designed to meet those needs. Run programs and provide proper documentation as required.

  • 5. Assist and teach individuals served to care for themselves in daily living tasks and social skills areas.

  • 6. Perform and assist with personal hygiene and grooming needs.

  • 7. Support the Mission and Values of Village Northwest Unlimited.

  • 8. Assist in ensuring effective and efficient operation of the residential programs by performing tasks as assigned by the Residential Leader.

  • 9. Maintain regular attendance.



Program Trainer

Qualifications: Experience working with the disabled desired. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Must interact in a positive manner with co-workers and individuals served. Preference will be given to those with relevant education.

Purpose: Provide quality programs and procedures as needed by each individual to reach his/her highest potential of independence in the residential, vocational, and community environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • 1.Develop and maintain positive personal relationship with individuals served and staff.

  • 2.Provide instruction and training to individuals served, including running and documentation of programs and other required information.

  • 3.Majority of time will be one-on-one training.

  • 4.Provide assistance to individuals served with personal needs.

  • 5.Support the Mission and Values of Village Northwest Unlimited.

  • 6.Maintain area and adaptive equipment.

  • 7.Assist in ensuring effective and efficient operation of the Adult Day Hab program by performing tasks as assigned by the Life Skills Coordinator.

  • 8. Maintain regular attendance.
